🐝 SiribKidz

Privacy Policy

Effective 25 August 2026

SiribKidz is a study companion built for Filipino children. It is used mainly by children, so we collect as little as we possibly can, we never sell anything about your family, and there are no ads. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what we hold and why.

The short version

Who we are

SiribKidz (“we”, “us”) is the operator of the SiribKidz app and website. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), we act as the Personal Information Controller for the information described below.

Operator: Raw4 Multimedia Services, a sole proprietorship registered in the Philippines, owned by Roffer Monajan
Registered address: 40 Provincial Road, Calaocan, Santiago City, Isabela, Philippines
Privacy contact: risobry@gmail.com

What we collect, and why

WhatWhy
Parent email addressTo create and secure the family account and send account-related messages (receipts, sign-in help).
Parent password (stored only as a scrambled “hash”, never as text)To let you sign in. We can never see your actual password.
Child nickname and grade levelTo personalise lessons and pitch them at the right level. We deliberately do not ask for a child’s full name, birthday, or address.
Child profile photo (optional)If your child chooses a profile picture, it is saved only on your device and shown only inside your app. It is never uploaded to our servers and does not sync between devices.
Study progress (subjects, lessons done, quiz results)To track learning, plan reviews, and show you a weekly report.
Photos of schoolwork and voice recordingsSent to our AI helpers to read a page or understand a spoken answer, then immediately discarded. They are never saved on our servers.
Anonymous error reportsWhen something breaks, we log a limited, fixed set of technical fields (error type, subject, grade number, app version, a random device code) so we can fix it. These contain nothing that identifies a child.

What we do NOT do

Where your information is stored

Account and progress data is stored in a secured database (Turso) hosted in Tokyo, Japan, and our app runs on Render’s cloud. Because these are international services, your information may be processed outside the Philippines. We only use providers that protect data in transit and at rest, and we share with them only what the service needs to work.

The helpers we rely on

To make SiribKidz work we use a small number of trusted service providers, and we send them only what is needed for the task:

These providers process children’s content only to deliver the feature requested, and are not permitted to use it to train their own products where an opt-out is available to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a child profile or your whole account, that data is removed from our live database. Anonymous error logs are kept only as long as needed to fix problems.

Your rights, and how to use them

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access, to correct, to object, to erase or block, to data portability, and to complain. In practice:

Children’s privacy

SiribKidz is meant to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian, who provides consent for their child to use it. A child’s account holds only a nickname and their schoolwork progress. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent’s involvement, email us and we will remove it.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, per-family isolation so one family can never see another’s data, and rate limits that block abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat children’s data as data to be minimised first and guarded closely.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its effective date, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
